NEW YEAR MESSAGE

 

Happy New Year to the MECUDA family in the USA. We thank God for keeping us alive to see another year, for there are many who have not been as lucky as we are. For that, I will ask that we take a minute of silence to pray for those of ours who joined the Lord last year. May their souls rest in perfect peace. I ask God to comfort their families and loved ones. Amen

 

On a much happier note, I am pleased to express my satisfaction and that of the board of the great job that the president and her executive have been doing since they took over the control of our great organization. More grease to their elbows. I can see that we are poised for a very interesting convention this year and encourage the convention committee to be relentless in their efforts to make this one an extra ordinary event. I am encouraged by the convention package introduction idea and that of issuing ID cards to every member. I commend all who have played a part in making this happen, particularly the executive for their financial sacrifice in obtaining the ID card machine. They are certainly leading by example and I encourage the rest of us to copy their example by meeting our most basic responsibility of annual registration. No organization can run without members and if you do not register or pay your annual dues then you are not a member. I strongly believe that we all want the organization to succeed and success starts with every one of us pulling together as one people of the great Meta clan.

 

We now have a functioning website: www.mecudasusa.com which I urge everyone to visit every once in a while because it is full of current information and being updated on a daily basis. Chapter presidents, please post your activities in your tab so we can all be informed about what your chapters are doing. Take an example from the Miami branch, they have even posted videos. I know that they are not the only chapter that is active. Show us what you have been doing. You can now register online at this site using your credit cards. I challenge everyone to do so through this site because it gives us the possibility of having your current information and also be able to reach you in case of an emergency. This database will form the foundation of our new e-group discussion forum that is at the verge of creation. Make sure you belong by registering. Please select your appropriate chapter. For those who do not have access to this technology, please see your chapter presidents who will get you registered accordingly. If you live in an area where there is no chapter, then select either the closest chapter or anyone of your choice, and then inform the president of that chapter.

 

I see a lot of good things coming our way this year and I am excited to get us all involved in different ways as we expect to embark on a project soon. This may be the first challenge for us this year. I am confident we can live up to the challenge. Our driving forces are the chapter presidents whom I want to acknowledge. They have been doing a great job with the record breaking meetings that they have been having with our national president and her executive. I raise my hat to you all. Without you the organization will not survive.

 

Needless to say that the board is proud of our national executive that is just wonderful and continues to ask them to stand as one body to move MECUDA forward into victory and higher heights. You can count on our undaunted support. I cannot close this message without commending our honorable board members for their time and interest they are showing in guiding and watching over the image of MECUDA. Without you this organization could get astray and I urge you all to stay vigilant, making sure that we respect and adhere to our mission, articles of incorporation and maintaining our 501(C) status. Thank you.
